A beautiful rainy day wedding at Piper’s Heath Golf Club – Rebecca + Chris | Milton, ON

September 9, 2021

Worrying about the weather for your wedding seems like parr for the course (!) but the truth is, with the right couple (and photographer) it’s easy to find the beauty in any moment. It also doesn’t hurt to have a stunning back drop like Piper’s Heath Golf Club to frame your shots and an adorable couple like Rebecca and Chris. Despite the rain, the cloud cover provided some absolutely gorgeous light and lucky for us we were able to sneak out at golden hour (as the rain gave us a reprieve) and took some stunning photos on the golf course – Rebecca and Chris danced in the high grass and then stood understood the iconic tree at Piper’s Heath!

The ceremony was heartfelt and meaningful – they each gave their mother a rose as a symbol of their love for them – they also had people blow bubbles as they walked down the aisle, which was super cute. Unfortunately, some people were not able to stay for the reception, so Chris and Rebecca said a little thank you to those in attendance, snapped a quick picture with each person and then sent them home with a bag of sparkling wine and cupcakes!

The day in more detail:

  • It was raining like crazy that day – but we were lucky to get a few moments where the rain held off – the best part was that the clouds made for consistent lighting – it was perfect!
  • Chris got ready with his family at his parent’s house while Rebecca got ready with her family and some friends at her parent’s house
  • Rebecca ended up getting her wedding dress from Sixpence Bridal in Guelph – a consignment bridal boutique – she picked a stunning Pronovias strapless ball gown – it fit her perfectly
  • Chris and Rebecca decided to do a first look before the ceremony – it was such a nice quiet moment for them to be together before the day started – because of all the rain we decided to do the first look in the same tent where they had their ceremony – it was perfect for lighting
  • We were able to get a few family photos done before the ceremony too because they opted for a first look! If you’re debating having a first look, it does help with the flow of the day and allows you to have not only spend a quiet moment together, but then get photos done so you can spend more time with your guests
  • The ceremony was heartfelt and meaningful – they each gave their mother a rose as a symbol of their love for them – they also have people blow bubbles as they walked down the aisle
  • Not everyone from the ceremony was able to stay for the reception, so Chris and Rebecca said a little thank you to those in attendance, snapped a quick picture with each person and then sent them home with a bag of champagne and cupcakes
  • We had a beautiful dinner with the family inside at Piper’s Heath – all Covid safety protocol was followed
  • We snuck out at golden hour (as the rain gave us a reprieve) and took some stunning photos on the golf course – they danced in the high grass and then stood understood the iconic tree at Piper’s Heath!
  • The grounds are so beautiful – we were spoiled for choice on where to shoot!
  • A huge thank you to Rebecca and Chris for choosing me to document their day
