What can I say? This Guelph, Ontario backyard wedding was pretty close to my heart and it truly was an honour to document Heidi and Lucas’s day. It was one of the most intimate ceremonies I have ever been part of and it all took place in the forest at Lucas’s uncle’s property.
I shot an engagement session for Heidi and Lucas at Goldie Mill Park in Guelph, Ontario and it was a great opportunity to get to know them better as a couple, even though I work with Lucas regularly. The photos from that day really show how much these two love each other. Check out the blog post about their engagement session here.
On the day of the wedding, Heidi got ready at the apartment she shares with Lucas near With The Grain and Park Grocery and Lucas got ready at his parent’s house on Dufferin Street, just a hop, skip and a jump away!
After having to postpone their original plans having the wedding at Goldie Mill due to Covid restrictions, they moved the celebration to Lucas’s uncle’s property in Eramosa-Garafraxa, just outside of Guelph, Ontario. The ceremony at their backyard wedding was deep in the forest with a beautiful floral back drop made by Briar and Wilds.
Our dear friend, Matt Naismith married them – he has known Lucas since he was little. After the beautiful and emotional ceremony, we did couples photos right away in the forest because the light was just so darn dreamy.
We rocked out family photos after and then rolled right into dinner – they had one long table for everyone and had their favourite food from Lucky Belly (seriously drool-worthy food!)
We did speeches by the campfire all together and then had a firework/sparkler send off. It really was the perfect evening for the perfect couple. Thanks for letting me be part of your day.
