Kelsey and Matt met in kindergarten in their hometown of Lucan, Ontario – their story is one filled with deep love; Kelsey’s parents are even high school sweethearts, and still live in Lucan. The wedding was put together with had a lot of help from their family friends and it felt so intimate and personal.
Matt got ready at his dad’s house and Kelsey got married at her parent’s house (only 5 minutes away from each other!). One of my favourite moments of the day was when Kelsey’s mum took her wedding dress and hung it in the room right next to her own wedding photo.
Kelsey did a first look with her dad and it was extremely emotional. I felt so lucky to have been part of that moment. Matt and Kelsey did their own first look against the corn at her parent’s property before heading to the ceremony.
The ceremony took place at Seelster Farms in the horse pasture – it was truly breathtaking to be surrounded by such beautiful and power animals. At one point during the ceremony all of the stallions and yearlings came rushing into the field behind us and started galloping in a circle – it was like a salute to Kelsey and Matt! It could not have been more perfect.
Matt’s dad performed the ceremony – it was rich in love and laughter. There was even a hilarious appearance from Matt’s mum’s dog, Murphy, who decided to roll on his back and show his belly during the ring exchange!
After the ceremony and family photos in the field, we went out to the horses with Kelsey and Matt – it was pure magic.
