Wineries, Wildfires and Rain Showers – Kayla + Warren | Kelowna, BC

September 9, 2021

Can’t stop, won’t stop! Even a global pandemic, suffocating wildfires and torrential downpours couldn’t keep Kayla and Warren from confessing their love to one another in front of their closest family and friends. Kelowna may typically be known for its beautiful views and stunning weather, but the truth is, no matter how much planning you do the weather does what the weather does, whether you like it or not! So it rained and it poured, but faces were filled with smiles and funnily enough, the smokey skies made for some gorgeous photos.

On the day of the wedding Warren got ready with his friends at their house by Lombardy Park and Kayla got ready at her parents house, about 10 minutes away.

The ceremony took place at Off the Grid Winery and we weren’t very lucky with the weather, at all. It absolutely poured with rain for the whole ceremony – POURED!! The best man and maid of honour had to hold umbrellas over the couples during the ceremony.

After the ceremony and family photos at the winery, we took the wedding party to the beach for photos at Marina Park, looking on to the Okanagan Lake. Next stop was Kayla and Warren’s favourite winery in Kelowna, BC: Kalala Organic Estate Winery, for a glass of wine with just the two of them – the rain let up so we were able to shoot in the vineyard there for a bit and it was great to have a quiet moment during the busyness of the day.

They finished their glass and we headed back in to the limo to go to Powers Creek Retreat. The giant timber wood entrance way guards an 18 acre venue in rural West Kelowna, surrounded by crown land and a regional park. The property has an abundance of trees, lawns and a huge open green field – they also have cabins that everyone stayed in overnight.
